  • Can be used as a hay crop

  • easy to establish
  • good tolerance to acid and poorly-drained soils
  • good tolerance to close grazing

Concerns

  • lower yielding than tall fescue
  • high susceptibility to disease
  • low palatability
  • contains an endophytic fungus
